Before World War II
 

1896 - 1938 technical school for boys
1897 - 1938 also a private grammar school for girls

1936 - 1938 the NS-Regime ordered the resolution of the school.

1938 New foundation as a council grammar school for girls with 7 classes and 212 pupils.

 
         
 
After World War II
  The school had to be rebuilt. So the pupils were moved to other buildings in a different suburb
of Cologne.

1948 The pupils returned to the school building

1956 A wing was added. The school was officially named "Kaiserin-Theophanu-Schule" (KTS) [Empress Theophanu School]

1973 Coeducation started at KTS

1978 Another wing was built to allow even more students to the school

1998 KTS celebrated its 60th birthday
